A Few Firsts

The beautiful thing about a newborn is that everything is-well- new!  Here are a few thoughts on some of Molly's "firsts"

coming home
First car ride-  I don't know if it was the frilly outfit I put her in or the blast of cold air she got hit with before we got her in the car, but Molly did NOT like her first car ride.  She cried hysterically the whole way home.

After about a minute and a half, I was crying in the backseat with her (gotta love those post-partum hormones).  Poor Nathan didn't know what to make of things.  That first experience made us terrified a bit hesitant to put her in the car again.  I am happy to report that she loves car rides now (and by love I mean falls into a blissful state of sleep before we are out of the driveway).

First family walk- Another thing that Molly loves is walks around the neighborhood in her stroller.  And we love walking with her.  We are trying to fit as many fun walks in as we can before the weather becomes unbearably hot. Sometimes she sleeps and other times she's alert and peacefully taking it all in.

First real bath- We tried to create a nice soothing environment for Miss Molly:

but oh no it did not seem to matter.  No matter what we tried she looked like this:

Oh well!  We made it through!

We have also experienced a few firsts that no parent wants their precious newborn to experience:
first hospitalization, first EKG, first MRI, first echo, first prescription medication, first IV...
first blood pressure check

showing off her iv- such a troooper!

No matter what though- this has been an amazing journey.  We can't imagine her any different.

  2. It makes me smile to see Molly snuggly in her blanket for some of her firsts.

Christian hated the car always. He screamed non-stop for every car ride for the first six months.
